Mary, unfortunately, died on Aug 9, 1884.
Married Mina Miller on Feb 24, 1886 and they also had 3 children named Madeleine Edison, Charles Edison and Theodore Edison.

He continued to improved this design. he and his team discovered a carbonised bamboo filament that could last over 1,200 hours. He filed for us. Patent 223,898 and it was granted on Jan 27, 1880.
