Biography:
Thomas Alva Edison, born in Milan, Ohio on Feb 11, 1847 and died in West Orange, New Jersey on Oct 18, 1931 at the age of 84.

He was homeschooled by his mother.


Married Mary Stilwell on Dec 25, 1871 and they had 3 children named: Marion Estelle Edison, Thomas Alva Edison. Jr, William Leslie Edison.

Mary, unfortunately, died on Aug 9, 1884.







Married Mina Miller on Feb 24, 1886 and they also had 3 children named Madeleine Edison, Charles Edison and Theodore Edison.



Inventions


Thomas Alva Edison invented a lot of devices such as Phonograph, Motion-Picture Camera, Long-lasting light bulb and many more.









The invention that benefits mankind most is the long-lasting light bulb. Thomas Edison's first successful test of his long-lasting light bulb was on Oct 22, 1879 and it lasted 40 hours. He continued to improved this design. he and his team discovered a carbonised bamboo filament that could last over 1,200 hours. He filed for us. Patent 223,898 and it was granted on Jan 27, 1880.
